MLive – Court piloting innovative program to resolve minor offenses online

MLive covered the launch of online platform to resolve minor offenses in Bay County. The innovative program was first piloted in the 14A District Court in Washtenaw County and then launched in thje 74th District Court in Bay County on Aug. 25, 2014.

“There are three components to it. One is the traffic (violation) resolution. The second part is failure to appear. The third component is failure to pay fines and costs.”

While the court is often willing to negotiate, there are several barriers to getting to court in person. This program helps drivers access the court from anywhere at any time to resolve their infraction.
